Due ex commilitoni che hanno messo in piedi una compagnia di varietà, vengono scritturati per la festa di Natale al Paradiso della neve, un albergo di montagna che però è deserto perché manca... la neve. Lhotel è del loro vecchio generale che ormai è sullorlo del fallimento. In nome dellantico cameratismo i due si mettono dimpegno e la festa è un trionfo. Per giunta arriva anche la neve e... lamore.
Bellissime le canzoni di Irving Berlin, tra le quali What Can You Do With a General e The Best Things Happen While Youre Dancing. Fu il primo film ad essere girato in vistavision. Grandi i protagonisti.
After leaving the Army after W.W.II, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis team up to become a top song-and-dance act. Davis plays matchmaker and introduces Wallace to a pair of beautiful sisters (Betty and Judy) who also have a song-and-dance act. When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly, is the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General.
