'Aerosmith / The Complete Classics Live! Collection (1986-87) Remaster (2009)' Review!
Some more live 'Aerosmith' culminated from various shows between 1978-1984. The 'Classics Live!' set opens up with a rip-soaring version of 'The Yardbirds' Train-Kept-A-Rollin'' from the 1980 King Biscuit Flower Hour show recorded for the band's 10th anniversary. There are a couple of more performances from that memorable gig, as well as, many other great live songs like the Brad Whitford driven, 'Lord Of The Thighs', with its driving guitar solo as its highlight. 'Classics Live! II' is primarily a complete concert recorded on New Year's Eve 1984 (New Year 1985) on bassist Tom Hamilton's birthday, and features among others a great performance of 'Movin' Out' & the song the band first released after their reformation on their 'Back In The Saddle Tour '84', a revamped, powerful version of 'Let The Music Do The Talking', originally done by the Joe Perry Project back in 1980. All in all, not a bad collection together, but still missing many great numbers, and the live atmosphere one has come to expect from an 'Aerosmith' show, but give it a spin, because YOU can never go wrong with 'Aerosmith'! - Rick Wilson, former Rock Radio Journalist for Radio Canale Grandé.
