The album peaked at No.1 in the USA on the Billboard 200 albums chart in August 2008. It was certified Platinum in the United States on August 18th 2008, selling over 1,000,000 copies to date. Worldwide, the soundtrack has sold over 3.16 million copies to date, spending a total of 2 weeks at No.1 on the world charts. The album had outsold the top 10 albums in the UK Albums Chart by June 20th 2008, however, it was ineligible for the main chart.
