SINOPSIS

Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) es un tímido y brillante estudiante del MIT (Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts) que, debido a la necesidad de pagarse el siguiente año universitario, encuentra las respuestas que busca jugando a las cartas. Ben es reclutado por un grupo de jóvenes de la universidad que van a Las Vegas a jugar. Con un profesor de matemáticas (Kevin Spacey) poco ortodoxo que es un genio en estadísticas liderando el grupo, han conseguido averiguar la clave para ganar. Seducido por el dinero, el estilo de vida de Las Vegas y por su inteligente y sexy compañera de equipo, Jill Taylor (Kate Bosworth), Ben comienza a cruzar los límites. Aunque contar las cartas no es ilegal, las apuestas son altas, y el desafío consiste no sólo en llevar bien la cuenta de los números, sino en ir un paso por delante del amenazador policía de casinos: Cole Williams (Laurence Fishburne).
