Bewitching Butterfly Kiriko is a kind of monster movies that the research of Sasagawa Swallowtail, whose scale hallucinates human being, brought the birth of bewitching butterfly KIRIKO. Kiriko preys on human trauma to grow.
The story follows the breed of Kirikos egg, the larva, the pupa then the imago, with portraying the characters desire and the plots over the swallowtail.
The story about the breed of egg was titled Chapter of Egg, and followed by Chapter of Larva, Chapter of Pupa. The last chapter (95/01/29) for the imago era was titled Kiriko Big Sleep After.
Bewitching Butterfly Kiriko practiced a strong experimental taste in its production, like planning, production and imaging. It labeled as Interactive Drama Game, as its progression of story reflected the feedback from the TV Viewers. The last chapter was presented in co-operative-vision that has 1:1 image proportion, so on.

This is a capture from an old VHS tape of KIRIKO 4 NIGHT around 1996, which showed the series across 4 nights. This DVD was privately authored as a petit resistance against the situation which this innovative, forward looking, nerve cracking drama is being lost near future, partly because WOWOW indicated no intention to publish in DVD format.
The release of 4 series will be made in DVD VIDEO format and AVI (DivX MP3).
